Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat tells the classic Biblical tale of Jacob and his twelve sons. Young Joseph, the second youngest brother and most favored son, is given a beautiful, multi-colored coat by his father. With this gift also comes the enmity of his jealous brothers, who sell him as a slave to a band of passing Ishmaelites. Hoping to rid themselves of Joseph forever, the brothers instead set in motion a powerful string of events which lead to Joseph's installation as the Pharaoh's right hand man. An inspiring and hilarious journey brought to life by Andrew Lloyd Webber's wide range of musical stylings, Joseph offers a story of forgiveness, love, and redemption. Don't miss this colorful, family friendly story with universal themes, energetic dancing and powerful music!

Just in time to kick off St. Patrick's Day celebrations, The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society presents its first pops concert, the beginning of a new tradition. The performance will be on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at LaPlata United Methodist Church , located on Route 6 just west of the intersection with Route 301.  The concert will be followed by a time of fellowship and refreshment, allowing musicians and audience members an opportunity to meet and mingle.

Musical selections will feature traditional Irish music, including a medley of Cohan standards, and "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling", "My Wild Irish Rose", "A Celtic Prayer", and "The Rose of Tralee" among many others.   "The Unicorn", made popular by the Irish Rovers, will be sung by Therese Thiedeman and Carol Charnock; soloist Lynn Monje will sing a selection from Finian's Rainbow; and Joseph Richter will perform "Down By the Sally Gardens".  Bag piping will enliven the performance. SYNOPSIS -
Museum takes place on the final day of a group show of three fictitious contemporary American artists being exhibited in a major museum of modern art. In the course of the day some forty people walk through the show: art lovers, skeptics, foreigners, students, lost souls, fellow artists, and of course, museum guards. The play is about the movement and yearning of these people. "Moving and beautiful ... a passionate and thoroughly personal play about the whole world." Village Voice. "The gallery becomes a parable of humanity ... [in this] comedy of absurdities with a serious message." N.Y. Times. "Excellent "slice of life' comedy ... exceptionally good comment on the human condition." Variety.

Westlake High School's Theatre Company proudly presents Aida. Shows are on March 22 - 24 at 7:00 pm and March 25 at 3:30 pm. Tickets are $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and seniors and $4.00 for Thespians.

Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA is a contemporary musical take on the grand classic tale of the love between an Egyptian soldier and an enslaved Nubian princess ---  a love that condemns them to death, but ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between the two warring nations, heralding an unprecedented time of peace and prosperity.

With a pop-rock score that features stirring ballads and rousing choral numbers, Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA is a modern crowd pleaser that embraces multi-cultural casting and exuberant dancing, staging and singing.

McDonough High School's Theatre Company proudly presents Thoroughly Modern Millie. Shows are on March 29-31 at 7:00 pm and April 1 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors and $6 for children (under 6) and thespians.
