"The
Ballet Project"

College of Southern Maryland La Plata campus, Theater,
Fine Arts Center.
The CSM Fine Arts Center, in collaboration with Jayne
Stefani-Keating, artistic director of the Ballet Arts Academy at the Old
Waldorf School, will present The Ballet Project on Saturday, April 19 at
8:00 p.m. The event brings together an extraordinary gathering of
artists. Included in the program are dancers from the Houston
ballet, from El Teatro de Danza Contemporánea
de El Salvador, advanced students from the Kirov Academy in Washington,
DC, and a soloist from the Ballet Arts Academy at the Old Waldorf
School. Violinist Alexander Dean and pianist Lori Dean will also
participate in the program.
In addition to what promises to be an exhilarating
evening of dance and music, the dancers themselves and/or artistic
directors will introduce the piece to be danced with a brief description
of its history and choreography. The program will end with an
opportunity for the audience to question the dancers who will return to
the stage for an informal discussion about their life as dancers and
performers.
